Ingo Maurer: Broken Egg Architectural Installation For Artpark in Inhotim
munich-based designer ingo maurer has presented at this year’s milan design week his concept for the seemingly jovial structure to be built in theart park in inhotim, brazil. the design of a large scale architectural rendition of a ceramic table lamp called ‘broken egg’ from 1996 will greet visitorswith a curious wonder, using the egg’s natural geometries to create a quite incredible interior auditorium space. an organic fissure runs across curvingroof and wall letting in only a sliver of light that reveals the volumetric expanse of interior space, but also draws a powerful ray of light to the exteriorfrom the activity inside.
